An overall balance sheet of monetary financial institutions in Luxembourg, gathered by the Banque Centrale du Luxembourg on 7 August 2015, has revealed a decrease of 1.8% from May 2015 to June 2015.

The balance sheet was found to have stood at €998,524 million on 30 June 2015, a 1.8% fall from €1,016,448 million on 31 May 2015. However, between June 2014 and June of this year, the total balance sheet was reportedly up 7.2%.

The sum of the interim bank balance sheets similarly fell, from €775,641 million at the end of May 2015 to €755,631 million for the same period of June 2015, demonstrating a decrease of 2.6%. The sum of the bank balance sheets rose 2.7%, between June 2014 and June of the following year.

The sum of the trial balances of MMFs was $ 242,891 million at June 30, 2015 against 240 806 million at May 31, 2015, an increase of 0.9%. Between June 2014 and June 2015, the balance sheet total was up 24.1%.

The number of banks registered on the official list totalled 144 units on 30 June 2015. On the same date, the number of money market funds (MMF) stood at 173 compartments.
