On Wednesday 1 June 2016, the Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte, also known as the Konviktsgaart, will be holding an open day in Luxembourg City.

The day will begin at 08:30 with a coffee and croissants reception, before interested parties are given the opportunity to discover the offers and services of the home, which is specially adapted to the needs of seniors aged 65+. Guided tours will take place at 09:00, 09:30, 10:30, 11:00, 13:30, 14:00, 15:00 and 15:30.

Although minutes from the city centre, Konviktsgaart is located in a quiet, green and secure environment. The infrastructure consits of 111 accommodation facilities of living areas varying between 39 and 55 m2. It offers services such as a restaurant, cafeteria, shop, hair salon, cash machine, library, laundry room and underground parking, which is complemented by a weekly celebration Mass in the Konviktsgaart chapel, gentle gym and dance classes for the elderly and regular activities such as concerts and culinary and cultural events.

The open day will also be an opportunity for visitors to learn about short stays, for which the Konviktsgaart has eight rooms, some individuals and other doubles which are available throughout the year.

From 10:30, an aperitif will be offered by the City of Luxembourg and at noon, visitors will be able to enjoy a menu at the restaurant prepared by Anne Faber, which requires prior registration at 26 06 50 1. However, others are able to enjoy the cuisine of the Konviktsgaart, for which registration is not requested. The menus are priced at €15, excluding drinks.

A tea dance will then be held from 14:00 to 17:00.
