On Sunday 12 February 2017, the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg signed an appeal for international action against poverty and social exclusion, launched by ATD (All Together for Dignity) Quart Monde.

On the occasion of the 100 year anniversary of the birth of Joseph Wresinski, the founder of ATD Quart Monde, the movement launched an international campaign to mobilise against poverty and social exclusion and for human dignity.

Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess was one of the first 100 famous signatories of the appeal, which asks that everyone build a society which takes into consideration the poorest and most excluded members of society.

As well as 2017 marking the 100 year anniversary of ATD’s founder, the year marks 60 years of action against poverty and the 30th anniversary of the World Day to Overcome Extreme Poverty (17 October).
