Erasmy Funeral Home will host Luxembourg’s first “coffee mourning” aimed at helping the bereaved come to terms with the loss of a loved one in a safe and supported environment on 2 March in Luxembourg-Hamm.

The family-owned business hopes that the occasion, the first of several they plan to organise throughout the year, will help people to discover more about the psychological aspects of bereavement. Jean Paul Erasmy has called in specialists, Psylux and Trauminstitut Luxembourg, to make presentations and to discuss individuals thoughts, fears and feelings with them without obligation.

“Our coffee mourning is an open and non-committal meeting for grieving people who offer an intimate setting where exchanges are in good hands. A place where you can express your mourning and feel understood,” said Mr Erasmy.

"To exchange with other people who are experiencing the same thing can help a lot,” he added.

“For some bereaved people, talking with an outside, neutral person, and bringing a fresh look, is of great help. Others are content to listen and observe that other people also experience deep and prolonged mourning. The coffee mourning welcomes you, and your history of personal mourning, in complete privacy."

The theme of this first official meeting will be "Mourning for Children" and will discuss how adults can help children in their mourning. The presentation will be in German and is intended for adults.

The first coffee mourning will take place at Namur in Luxembourg Hamm, in the Fireplace Room between 17:00 and 20:00. The presentation will be given between 17:30 and 18:30. Visit www.trauercafe.lu for more information or email info@erasmy.lu
