On Monday 2 May 2016, Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Nicolas Schmit, met with a delegation from Blëtz ASBL, a non-profit organisation which aims to help people who have been affected by a stroke.

President of the Blëtz ASBL, Chantal Keller, informed the minister of the statistics: every day, four people in Luxembourg are affected by a stroke. Therefore the early detection of the disease and resulting appropriate treatment are important for maximising the chances of recovery.

Minister Schmit then congratulated officials at the association for their important work in education and awareness.

The exchange focused on the employment of people affected by a stroke, which is often characterised by a long process of re-education and rehabilitation.
