The American Women's Club of Luxembourg (AWCL) has announced they it is organising its annual Halloween event this year.

The format of the eevnt has changed a bit in the last couple of years; the AWCL used to host a traditional Trick or Treating event in one of the Luxembourg neighbourhoods which attracted crowds of people as it was popular with both members and non-members. However, as it was becoming increasingly difficult to manage, they devised a new format, "Trunk or Treat", what has now become the event of choice in the US.

Churches, service organisations and businesses will arrange for volunteers to give out candy via their car trunk (boot) and decorate their cars for the occasion. The AWCL moved to this format last year and held it at the Goodyear track in Colmarberg. Given the newness of the event, it was a great success with over 250 children participating.

This year the AWCL is holding the event in the outskirts of Luxembourg city (exact venue to be confirmed to those attending, for security reasons) on Saturday 22 October from 15:00 - 17:00. The event will also have food trucks, bouncy castles, vendors and other children's entertainment available for guests. Participation is open to the community and tickets will be going on sale next week. The AWCL anticipates over 300 children participating this year.

The AWCL will also be holding its annual Thanksgiving Dinner that will be held on Saturday 19 November from 16:00 - 19:00. This event is closed to members and their families.

These events are for members of the AWCL and their families. To become an member and find out further details, see www.awcluxembourg.com
