On Saturday evening, the British Ladies Club of Luxembourg (BLC) held their annual table quiz at the Double Tree by Hilton in Luxembourg-Dommeldange, with The Team With No Name emerging victorius with a total of 63 points.

With ten rounds of eight questions on topics ranging from general knowledge and current affairs to The Animal World and Food and Drink, with various standard rounds from Arts and entertainment, Literature, Science and Sport, quizmaster Geoff Thompson ensured there was something for everyone.

Questions ranged from asking the collective name for a group of eagles (convocation) - a "squadron of eagles" was one of the amusign answers revealed at the end of the evening - to asking why Martha Ruiz and Brian Cullinan were in the news recently (the Oscars best picture envelope fiasco), the price of a stamp to post a letter within Luxembourg (70 cents), the name of Ed Sheeran's latest album (Divide) and Dry ice is the frozen form of which gas? (carbon dioxide).

The enjoyable evening had attracted interest from both members of long standing as well as some who were new to the BLC and this type of social event, and included a 3-course meal served mid-way through the question rounds.

At the end, The Team With No Name pipped Les Quizerables (59 points) and The Next Big Thing (51 points) to top place.
