The US Embassy in Luxembourg launched a video contest in April/May for World Environment Day and have extended the deadline until the end of November to give students additional time for their submissions.

“Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” The US Embassy is inviting young people to produce a video clip showcasing their views on environmental related concerns. The outcome of the contest will take place during a special viewing and award ceremony which will be held in late January / early February. Prizes include foldable bicycles, electric scooters, solar panel backpacks, gift vouchers and other ‘green items’!

RULES

Produce a video showcasing your views on environmental related concerns. Submit your YouTube video link to email: LuxembourgPublicAffairs@state.gov and include your name, age, school and e-mail contact.

Contestants may want to address these or other questions:
- What does World Environment Day mean to you?
- The effects of a growing global population on the Earth’s natural resources?
- Can agriculture save the planet before it destroys it?

Videos may be produced individually or in groups of 2-4 and must not exceed 2 minutes in length. Content must be the original work and thoughts of the students/creators and will be judged based on creativity, clarity of message and content. The contest is open to all Lycées and university students in Luxembourg.
