Handicap International has announced that pupils from Ettelbruck Primary School are participating in its project “Child’s Perspective: design against bombs”.

74 Ettelbruck pupils between the ages of 11 and 13 are taking part in Handicap Internationals project “Design against bombs”, which is an artistic programme aimed at spreading awareness of the issue of antipersonnel landmines, cluster bombs and war remnants.

The pupils will reflect on these issues through the story of Kanha, a young Cambodian victim. With the help of Handicap International’s supply of educational material, from DVDs and video to photos, six motivated teachers at the school, who are involved in the project, made the decision to tell Kanha’s story to their pupils through this artistic programme.

Following Handicap International’s introduction session in October 2016, the children have developed the subject with their teachers by taking into account the daily life of Kanha after her accident.

At the end of this project, the pupils design drawings which will be presented to the public next March in Ettelbruck.
