The University of Luxembourg has received very good grades for research during its third external evaluation.

The Luxembourg delegate Minister for Higher Education and Research, Marc Hansen, has presented the external evaluation results for the University of Luxembourg during a press conference also attended by international expert-evaluators.

This is the third big evaluation that the university has faced since its creation and focuses on its activities from 2012 to 2015. It is the first time that the entirety of research activities at the University of Luxembourg has been systematically and profoundly evaluated.

Over 50 international experts were involved in the evaluation process, taking part in what is called international peer review.

Some of the areas which received positive results in this evaluation include motivated staff, and very favourable conditions with regards to salaries, budget and infrastructures.

Moreover, 70% of the universities centres gained excellent results for both quality and quantity, as well as for third-party funding. Its international standing both economically and socially also contributed to the university’s positive scores.
