The Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) has organised an exhibition on women in the fields of research and engineering in the Grand Duchy “WiSE Wiomen” between 20 January and 11 February 2017, at the Cité Bibliothèque (3, rue Genistre, L-1623 Luxembourg).

The “WiSE Women- women in research and engineering in Luxembourg”, which has been organised by the VdL in collaboration with the Fonds National de la Recherche and the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg, is now open and presents the public with the scientific projects and career paths of around twelve women working in public or private research institutions and in the engineering sector in the country.

The exhibition shows how the sectors in which women work are very diverse, from engineering or material science to teaching, microbiology, economics, and law, to name but a few.

As part of the VdL’s gender equality policy, “WiSE Women” aims to both increase the visibility of women in all aspects of society and highlight the importance of women in the research sector, as well as making the public aware of gender inequalities that still exist.

The women whose work will be presented are Julie Distel, Sandra Domagala, Nathalie Valle, Pascale Engel de Abreu, Claudine Kirsch, Conchita D’Ambrosio, Mahulena Hofmann, Patrice Caire, Anna Heintz-Buschart, Conny Mathay, Simone Niclou and Ines Thiele.

The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00.
