The Minister for Higher Education and Research, Marc Hansen, yesterday received Professor Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, President of the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC) for a review of the 10-year history of the ERC program and possible evolution of the ERC in the next European Union Framework Program for Research.
Currently, seven ERC laureates perform their research at the University of Luxembourg. The ERC fellowships of the European Union's Horizon 2020 program are aimed at high-level researchers and enable innovative high-risk research, the only criterion for selection being scientific excellence.
