On Monday 23 November 2015, the Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research, Marc Hansen, welcomed His Excellency Gregor Schusterschitz, the Austrian Ambassador, for a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

During the meeting, the Secretary of State and the Ambassador discussed the admission of Luxembourg students to study medicine in Austria. Around 90 Luxembourg students are currently pursuing medical studies in Austria. Gregor Schusterschitz informed Marc Hansen that the Austrian Government was confident with regard to the extension beyond 2016 of the quota system for medical students, which currently favours Luxembourg students.

Finally, the two figures discussed the theme of research integrity, which is one of the priorities of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the context of research, as well as the national structure for research integrity.
