Following the announcement that the draft law on the reform of care insurance will be definitively adopted in two weeks, the LCGB trade union has called for a working group to be organised bringing together all the social parties constituting stakeholders.

According to the LCGB, the working group should enable the government to explain in its own words its vision for the reform project and allow the social partners to seek clarification regarding submitting requests for the adaptation or modification of the preliminary project before its final approval is granted by the Government Council.

The trade union further found the reform project as its currently stands to be incomplete and expressed fear that it could result in negative impacts on the quality of benefits and in job losses in the sector. The LCGB therefore called on the government to commit to an active social dialogue on the issue.

The LCGB concluded its statement by requesting that both the date of adoptiong by the Government Council and the date of entry into force of the reform be postponed, which it claimed would be in the interest of the system's beneficiaries and jobs in the aid and care sector.
