Dudelange-Burange Bridge Construction to See A13 Closures Over Weekend

A new construction phase in the redevelopment of the Dudelange-Burange junction, consisting in the partial construction of four new bridges, is being conducted by the Administration des ponts et chaussées.

As a result, preparatory work will be carried out from 18:00 on Friday 20 to 06:00 on Monday 23 May 2016 on the A13 between the croix de Bettembourg and the Esch junction in both directions. The new construction phase is expected to last about 18 months, during which motorway traffic will be diverted to the southern half of the motorway, making two lanes towards Schengen and one route to Pétange, to allow the construction of the half-structures on the north platform of the junction. The access and exit ramps of the Dudelange-Burange junction will remain open at all times.

From 18:00 on Friday 20 to 06:00 on Monday 23 May 2016, the following blocks and diversions will be in place:

- The A13 from the croix de Bettembourg towards the Dudelange-Burange junction;
- The A13 from the Esch junction towards the croix de Bettembourg;
- The exit ramp of the croix de Bettembourg from Luxembourg City on the A3 towards the Esch junction of the A13;
- The exit ramp of the croix de Bettembourg from the Franco-Luxembourg border of the A3 towards the Esch junction of the A13;
- The access ramp of the Dudelange-Burange junction from the N31 towards the croix de Bettembourg on the A13;
- The access ramp of the Kayl junction from the CR165 towards the croix de Bettembourg on the A13;
- The access ramp of the Schifflange junction from the CR169 towards the croix de Bettembourg on the A13;
- The exit ramp of the Esch junction from Esch/Alzette on the A4 towards the croix de Bettembourg of the A13;
- The exit ramp of the Esch junction from Luxembourg City on the A4 towards the croix de Bettembourg of the A13;
- The access ramp of the Foetz junction from CR164 towards the croix de Bettembourg of the A13;

Traffic from the Franco-Luxembourg border and the croix de Gasperich of the A3, as well as traffic from Schengen on the A13 will be diverted from the Livange junction of the A3 towards the N31 and N13 until the Dudelange-Burange junction of the A13.

Traffic from Pétange on the A13 and Esch-sur-Alzette on the A4 will be diverted towards the A4-A6-A3 until the croix de Bettembourg of the A3.
