The speed limit on Rue de Gasperich, between Gioacchino Rossini Street and Giuseppe Verdi Street, some 200 meters Located near the basic school of Gasperich, the school home and the church will be reduced to 30km/h effective from 3 April 2017.
The City of Luxembourg is imposing the limit in order to better ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and children and is accordingly narrowing the roadway and widening the pavement.
The City said that at 30km/h the stopping distance is half that from a speed of 50km/h, and that lower speeds impact quality of life for residents as it reduces traffic, noise and pollution.
