The ISL High School is putting on three performances of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy "The Importance of Being Earnest".

This is the story of two bachelors, John ‘Jack’ Worthing and Algernon ‘Algy’ Moncrieff, who create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. They attempt to win the hearts of two women who, conveniently, claim to only love men called Ernest. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure. The elaborate plot ridicules Victorian sensibilities with some of the best loved, and indeed bizarre, characters to be found on the modern stage.

The play is directed by Scott Macky and features memorable performances from the High School cast, and will be performed over three nights in three separate locations, starting in Theatre Studio US01 (in the Basement of the Upper School). The whole family will enjoy this witty comedy.

The performances are at 19:00 on 21, 22 and 24 March at the ISL in Luxembourg-Merl. Tickets cost €2 and are on sale from the Upper School Reception, and at the door. Reservations by email: smacky@islux.lu
