Having just opened the store in Howald in May this year, the Eirelux Cash & Carry is already planning for expansion, with a bar and café-restaurant, as well as a bookshop run by Chapter1 bookstore.

The man behind Eirelux, Vincent Clarke, told The Luxembourg Chronicle that he is delighted with they way the store is operating, providing a service for both retail and trade customers. In the next few months, Éirelux will be expanding to include a bar close to the entrance for customers to relax and taste some of the drinks stocked by the store.

The café-cum-restaurant is another step up altogether, with the comprehensive menu offering everything from Full Irish Breakfasts to hot lunches of traditional Irish fare, aiming for it to become a focal meeting point in the community. While not all the details are yet confirmed, they hope to open at approx 07:30 to 19:00, six days a week, plus Sundays for lunch.

Chapter1 will operate The Book Loft, a 130 m2 area on the first floor, which is currently being fitted out and decorated. This is set to be a Children's Paradise which will have books everywhere, on shelves and in trees, and also special toys. Caroline Muhlfenzl, Chapter1's owner, told The Luxembourg Chronicle that it will also have a Sit & Read area, encouraging children to read at every opportunity.

But the Book Loft will not only be for children, it will also be a relaxing space for adults, providing seating areas and coffee tables. The Book Loft will offer a wide selection of Best Sellers, speciality books, Magazines and gifts.

The three projects are expected to open in January.

In addition to serving Luxembourg and neighbouring countries, Éirelux has started exporting to China. That part of the business is expected to grow substantially next year.

ÉireLux and Chapter1 will be welcoming Santa on Saturday 5 December. Your child can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes and receive a litte gift. Please register your child on the Facebook event page to avoid disappointment.

Eirelux is located at 40 Rue des Bruyères, L-1274 Luxembourg-Howald. Chapter1 also operates its bookstore at 42 Rue Astrid, L-1143 Luxembourg-Belair.
