Following the discovery of Luxembourg’s food safety authorities of the presence of unmarked sulphites in Delhaize’s “cherries in grape juice”, the supermarket has been required to recall the product.

During a food safety control campaign, Luxembourgish health authorities found that the abovementioned product was being sold without clearly stating the presence of sulphites, a food preservative to which some people are allergic. As such, Delhaize has recalled the item from their Luxembourg stores. However, the some had already been sold prior to this decision.

As a result, Luxembourgish food safety authorities are advising consumers with allergies to sulphites to not eat this product, which is part of the “Delhaize Taste of Inspiration” range and comes in a 175g glass jar. The concerned product has an expiry date of 25 September 2017 and 5 August 2018; no other products are concerned.
