Luxembourg supermarket chain, Cactus, has launched a new fundraising programme to support an endangered frog species through purchases of its Bio Naturbrout bread.
Ten cents from every loaf of bread purchased will go towards the acquisition and management of nature reserves, rich in ponds, that will be able to accommodate green tree frogs and ensure their long term sustainability.
Cactus customers have already raised € 105,822 in support of environmental projects carried out by Natur & ëmwelt Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur foundation, including projects aimed at protecting otters’ environments, wild orchid propagation, and reed warblers.
