Luxembourg's Ministry of Health has announced that the Colruyt supermarkets have informed the Luxembourg food safety authorities of the recall of several lots of Charlotte potatoes due to the presence of an insecticide residue, fosthiazate.

Possible symptoms of fosthiazate poisoning include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

The products were marketed in Luxembourg in Colruyt stores; they were removed from the sale but some products were sold. For this reason, the Luxembourg food safety authorities recommend that consumers should no longer consume the following product:

"Charlotte" Potatoes in 5 kg plastic packaging Origin: Cyprus Period of sale: from 19.05.2017 to 02.06.2017 included Article number: 28064 Number of lots concerned: 317139120 with expiry date of 10.06.2017 417144400 with expiry date of 16.06.2017 417146410 with expiry date of 19.06.2017 217146710 with expiry date of 19.06.2017

Only the products mentioned with the lot numbers and dates indicated are concerned.

If the symptoms appear, consumers should consult a doctor, indicating the consumption of the contaminated product.
