The Station Biologique-Naturzenter SIAS, Fédération des Unions d'Apiculteurs du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (FUAL), Luxembourg Canton Beekeepers' Club and its English-speaking group, Bee Together, are organising an information evening on bees and beekeeping on Thursday 29 October from 18:30 in Luxembourg-Kirchberg (exact venue to be confirmed and sent to those who register for the event).

The evening will be organised on the basis of 3 themes:

i) An introduction to the beekeeping hobby;
ii) First steps in becoming a beekeeper; and
iii) The importance of providing nesting places and food sources for solitary bees and bumblebees.

Each theme will have a table where the participants and hosts interact to explore the topic and to answer your questions.  Further information will be sent to those who register.

Some experienced and beginner beekeepers will be present to provide attendees with information on this fascinating hobby and becoming a beekeeper. In addition, two people will be on hand to talk about the importance of nesting sites and food sources for wild pollinators, particularly solitary bees and bumblebees.

Experienced beekeepers: Marc Thiel and Hubert von Dewitz
English theory course instructor: Andreas Reichart
Beginner beekeepers:  Crista Filip, John Park, Massimo Sabbatucci, and Amanda Surbey
Wild pollinator hosts: Annemie Debackere and Cathy Walshe
