An exhibition at the Belle Etoile shopping centre in Bertrange featuring old-timer carriages opened on Thursday and will continue until 14 May.

The association De Leederwon is supporting the exhibition of carriages, carts and wagons that are steeped in history, going back to the days when there were no cars, and travel were made with the help of horses.

Visitors can admire Victorian horse-drawn carriages, hunting carts, doctors' traps and a series of horse-drawn carriages presented with period costumes. Also on display will be the newly-renovate delivery wagon for Battin beer, revealed during the week.

Discover the "Huifbedrijden"

The Huifbedrijden is a form of therapy that combines leisure, pleasure, relaxation and rest. Its objective is to enable severely disabled people to get in touch with horses and participate in recreational activities. The elderly who do not have the strength to sit upright on horseback can also benefit.

The De Leederwonn association, whose goal is to offer the opportunity to practice "Huifbedrijden" in Luxembourg, will be present throughout the exhibition to present its activities and answer questions from the public.

The inauguration occurred in the presence of Guy Arendt, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for Culture, Peter Aenderkerk, President of the De Leederwon Association, Manu Konsbruck, Director of the La Belle Etoile shopping center, and members and supporters from the DeLeederwon association.
