The visitor gallery at SEO Vianden is to host this year's Elephant Parade® until the end of September 2016.
The gallery will exhibit 20 colourful elephants that are part of this year’s Elephant Parade®, is a social enterprise dedicated to the protection and welfare of Asian elephants. 20% of the annual profits from the Elephant Parade® go to various research and conservation projects. Each year, Elephant Parade® has exhibitions in different cities around the world, comprising colorful elephant statues, which are designed by local artists. Luxembourg city hosted the Elephant Parade in 2013.
In addition to the temporary exhibition of colorful pachyderms, the visitor gallery of SEO in Vianden has a very interesting information platform. The issues of climate and energy are illuminated in a vivid way. The issues covered range from climate change and energy supply on the role of renewable energy, to the growing importance of energy storage. The function of the pumped storage power plant in Vianden is explained in detail, as well as the SEO’s commitment to renewable energy.
The information platform is divided thematically with large partitions and each topic on large panels and displayed graphically. Here, the interest of visitors is raised and can be connected to several interactive information terminals.
The visitor gallery is open daily from 10:00 until 20:00 until the end of September. Guided tours offered by the SEO in cooperation with the "Guides des Ardennes Touristiques Luxembourgeoises asbl” for wich registration is online at www.seo.lu.
