On Friday 29 July and Saturday 30 July 2016 the Ville de Luxembourg is organising the traditional “Kanner in the City” festival of games for children.

The “Kanner in the city” event is part of the Aktioun Bambësch initiative and will take place from 14:30 until 17:30 on Friday on rue des Capucins and at Puits Rouges, and from 15:30 until 18:40 on Saturday at Place Guillaume II, Place d’Armes and rue de la Reine in Luxembourg city centre. It is also part of Summer in the City programme of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO).

The festival reflects the Ville de Luxembourg’s commitment to children and families. This year it focuses on the theme "Spille mécht staark" (playing make you strong). Children can participate in games and workshops offered by "Aktioun Bambësch" and by "Spielmobile" professionals from different countries in Europe.

There will be a “Point Zone” where budding footballers can practice their skills on grass, water games, a giant orchestra (Gigantenorchester) consisting of large instruments, “Siggi the dragon” for children under the age of 9, and the "little train" of CAPEL which is brand new.

The event is intended for children between the age of 4 and 14. Everyone, however, is free to participate.
