From Thursday 1 September until Monday 5 September 2016, Neimënster will shine its spotlight on the theme of hatred with a series of events that will address this topic from several different angles.

The "Haunt" festival will be launched on Thursday 1 September 2016 with a special evening that starts with the dance show "A Separation" by the British company Colin, Simon & I. Being the winner of the European Platform Aerowaves in 2015, this dance drama is interpreted by two dancers and addresses discrimination, violence against minorities and justification of racism.

In the second part of the evening the Luxembourg artist Luc Spada will present his creation "Hate Fuck, but sweet? "In which he analyses the theme of hatred through the prism of love and sex and the relationship to violence. The performance is the long-term result of research conducted by the artist himself. To find answers to his questions, Luc Spada went out and collected raw testimony of people who have suffered the effects of hatred.

The "Hate" festival will continue with the representation of the play "Hate Radio" by the renowned Swiss director Milo Rau on both Saturday 3 September and Sunday 4 September 2016. It will end with the round table "Hate Speech", which will review the expression of hatred in social networks with representatives of culture, politics and the media: Luxembourg’s Minister of justice Felix Braz, Marc Piron from ASTI and the artist-writer Luc Spada.

“A Separation” will take place on Thursday 1 September 2016 at 19:30, and “Hate Fuck, but sweet?” will take place on the same day at 20:30. Both performances will be held at Neimënster (Abbaye de Neumünster), Salle Robert Krieps. The price for the two performances is €20 (reduced €8 for people under the age of 26). For people with the “Kulturpass” it costs €1.50. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.neimenster.lu or tel: 265052-444.
