In the context of its Schengen Summer School on Architecture and Migration, the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA) are organising a public keynote lecture with Prof. Saskia Sassen, sociologist at Columbia University and author of The Global City.

The Schengen Summer School of Luxemburg University, scheduled for 1-10 September 2016, will look into the issue of the impact that the various forms of migration might have on urban planning and architecture and how architects and city planners can get involved in approaches to integrate migrants and refugees.

This lecture will take place on Saturday 10 September at 18:00. On the same day at 14:00, students will present the preliminary results of their work.

Both, the presentation and the keynote lecture, are free and open to the public. They will take place at the Luxembourg Center for Architecture (LUCA), 1 rue de l’Aciérie, 1112 Luxembourg.

A cocktail reception will close the event. Registration is required before 7 September at christelle.karleskind@uni.lu.
