During the afternoon of Sunday 12 February 2017, the Anglican Church of Luxembourg is putting on a new event, an Arts Festival, to raise money for the various charities it supports.

Between 13:30 and 20:00, Cents church (Eglise de St Esprit, L-2539 Luxembourg-Cents) will be full of music and drama, while there are also activities planned for children, various kinds of food and drink and a book sale.

About a dozen groups or individuals will share their expertise in such arts as choral singing, polyphony, mindfulness, creative writing and action songs for children. Among the performers who are well known on Luxembourg's music scene are the horn duo Kerry Turner and Kristina Mascher, and the a capella groups The Art of Music and Intermedii; choirs from Cents, Weiler-la-Tour and the Anglican Church will also perform.

The day will end with a chance for everyone to join in a rehearsal and performance of Handel's Allelujah chorus, conducted by Ovidiu Dragan.

Tickets for performances will be on sale on the day (€5 for 1 performance, €15 for the whole afternoon, children under 13 free). Workshop places must be booked and paid for in advance (€3 children, €5 adults): adults (Mindfulness) and children (Movement & Dance; Drama; Story Writing).

All proceeds will go in aid of several charities that the Anglican Church supports, including Cope in Laos, which provides prosthetic limbs for the victims of unexploded bombs and munitions left from the vietnam War, Friendship Luxembourg - Bangladesh, Stemm vun der Strooss, and the Golden Horizon School for Syrian Refugee Children in Turkey.
