"Rencontres sans frontières,” a sports and cultural day promoting exchanges between nations is coming up with football and beach volleyball tournaments and family entertainment during one day at the Boy Konen sports complex in Cessange on 18 June.

Organised in collaboration with the Comité de liaison des associations d'étrangers (CLAE), the day focuses on sports and intercultural exchanges, reflecting the city’s desire to promote integration of the many nationalities in its territory.

More than 70% of the people living in Luxembourg’s capital come from elsewhere, representing up to 167 different nationalities.

In addition to the tournaments, from 08:00 until 20:00 various activities will be offered for young and old, including sports workshops and demonstrations, music and dance from the communities present, entertainment for children and a chance to savour different cuisines.

Registration for Rencontres sans frontières will open on 3 March when associations who wish to propose a demonstration, or stand, can do so through the website: www.rsf.lu; or by email: rsf@optin.lu; or by fax: 264 592 05.
