Luxembourg is running into spring with the 22nd Postlaf an der Stad next Sunday 12 March, a 10km race starting near the Post Office buildings in Luxembourg Cloche d’Or.

More than 3,000 runners are expected to take part, eight of whom — who will be sporting the bib numbers 1 through 8 — have run in every single race since the inaugural run in 1996.

While online registration is closed, it is still possible to register in person. The cost for doing so on 10 March is €13, plus a €4 rental fee and €10 refundable deposit for a runner’s chip, rising to €15 on 11 March and €17 on 12 March, plus the costs of rental and deposit for the chip.

The winner’s prize is €250, one for each category of men and women, rising to double that for men who beat Gabriel Geay’s record of 29.39 minutes, and women who beat Emmily Bowitt’s 35.21 minute record.

The LaLux Kids runs, one of 500 metres for kids born between 2009 and 2012, and a 1,000 metre race for children born between 2003 and 2008, are free to enter. Online registration will be open until 9 March, and in person until 11 March.

Participants and cheerers-on can, if they wish, pledge €2 towards Caritas Luxembourg who will have a stand at the race, or runners can donate the deposit for their chip. The money raised will enable disadvantaged children in Luxembourg to experience enriching experiences with other children at a “Young Caritas” summer camp.
