On Thursday, Luxembourg city's mayor, Lydie Polfer, inaugurated a new children's playgroung named Bauerenhaff, located at the Jardin anglais on rue Cicignon in Gasperich.

The playground design and layout is focused on the world of the farm; it is part of the network of thematic play areas in different neighbourhoods across the city which are experiencing great success, such as the pirate ship with the theme of water on Avenue Monterey or the castle in the Rue Charlemagne.

In early 2015, a fourth area in Cents centred on the theme of the airport will be added to the network that will have some 10-15 playgrounds spread across the capital in the long-term. The idea behind these thematic areas is to invite children to visit, along with their parents, the different neighbourhoods of the city, discovering each time another imaginary world with structures and games that support creativity and imagination for small and large visitors alike.
