The Ville de Luxembourg has announced a series of changes, described a minor, to the city's bus network as from 1 February 2017.

The timetables of all city bus routes will be adjusted accordingly, in order to adapt better to issues such as road works and new worksites, which have an impact on the running of the buses. These changes do not affect the frequency of the lines, with the exception of line 16 where the frequency will be improved.

Changes to bus stops at Luxembourg-Gare

With the completion of the construction site at Place de la Gare, as well as the installation of the charging station for hybrid electric buses, the stops will be reverted to the original docks, with a few exceptions:

• Lines 1, 7 and 16 will now stop at Quay 12 (instead of Quay 9), which will provide better access to buses
• Stop line 29 will be moved to Quay 9 (formerly Quay 12)

Line changes

The schedules of lines 9, 13 and 14 will be adapted, in particular with a view to putting hybrid electric buses into service, which requires a recharge time of 6 minutes at the charging stations. This adaptation will have no impact on the frequency of traffic but only on schedules.

The route of line 29 will be adapted between Howald and Luxembourg-Gare, and will now travel on the Route de Thionville to better serve the Dernier Sol, Hippodrome and Neufchâteau stops. Additional buses will be set up in the mornings to allow access to the airport from around 05:00. With the same objective of better service to the airport, additional services will be organised on line 16 on Sunday afternoon, where the frequency will increase from every 30 to every 15 minutes.

Finally, line 26 will change its name to become line 226, due to its takeover by the Department of Transport.

Details of the changes, as well as updated timetables will be available on the City's website (http://bus.vdl.lu), on the CityApp mobile app, as well as posted on the relevant bus stops.
