The new route of the tangential line RGTR 226 was presented today by the minister for sustainable development and infrastructure, François Bausch.

As part of the schedule change of  19 June 2017, RGTR line 226 will operate from Bertrange via Leudelange, Helfent, Cloche d'Or, Howald, to Alzingen. At the same time, it will benefit, together with 83 other lines, from the commissioning of "real time" which will allow users to consult the actual schedules of public transport on his smartphone or the screens on buses.

The new route is perfectly in line with the government's strategy of linking the municipalities of the "DICI" (Coordinated and Integrative Community Development) Convention among themselves, with a view to improving public transport in the zones of activity south of the Countries, currently in full development.

The direct line will therefore allow the traveler from Hesperange not to pass through the central station to reach the other localities of the journey.

"In addition, we use this line as a pilot project for the electro-mobility of public transport in the urban space," said François Bausch. "The principle of tangential lines will enable us to improve mobility in the Southern region and to connect ideally the commercial and industrial zones in full development. Similarly, Frisange's P + R will be expanded to allow a maximum number of people to change their mode of transport".

The line will operate from Mondays to Saturdays, from 05:00 to 22:40.
