At the EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan this Saturday, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Economy Etienne Schneider attended a business delegation from the Chamber of Commerce at the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Grand Duchy in Astana, marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Luxembourg and Kazakhstan.

The delegation celebrated Luxembourg Day at the exhibition with a concert by Luxembourg cellist André Mergenthaler.

In the margins of EXPO-2017, Xavier Bettel and Étienne Schneider held bilateral meetings with the prime minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakytjan Saguintaïev, and with the minister of defence and aerospace industries, Beibut Atamkulov. Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Étienne Schneider also met with Kazakhstan's finance minister Bakhyt Sultanov and visited the Kazakhstan Space Centre.
