On 31 August 2015, Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel will join other national leaders at the 10th Bled Strategic Forum in the Slovenian city.

The forum, which this year is focused on 'Visions of New Partnerships', aims to promote high-level strategic dialogue on key issues between leaders of private and public sectors, with a view to developing new strategies and solutions to challenges faced by the EU and the world in the 21st century.

Prime Minister Bettel will present at the opening conference, entitled 'New Global Order: Confrontation or Partnerships', in the presence of political figures such as President of the European Council, Donald Tusk; President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović; President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor; and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksander Vučić.

The concept of partnerships and political relations are a significant aspect of the 2015 forum, as this year marks various important global anniversaires, including the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII, 70th anniversary of the United Nations and the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act, signed by 35 states in 1975 as a means of improving relations between the so-called Communist bloc and the West.

The Luxembourg Prime Minister will also reportedly draw on the opportunity to engage in discussion with his Slovenian counterpart, Miro Cerar, on various bilateral factors and issues on a European and international scale.

Prime Minister Bettel also intends to meet with President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor and Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE), Lamberto Zennier, during his time in Bled.
