The Expo 202 Dubai website dedicated to Luxembourgish participation is now online.

The new site for the 2020 Universal Exhibition, which is set to take place between 20 October 2020 and 10 April 2021 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), not only presents the exhibition but also provides all information regarding Luxembourgish participation.

Over 25 million visitors are expected at the exhibition at which around 200 countries and international organisations will present their ideas and solutions on the exhibition’s chosen theme of “Connecting minds, creating the future.”

Three closely linked sub-themes have been chosen, which are mobility, sustainability and opportunity, the latter of which is the one that Luxembourg focuses on. Moreover, there is the “Resourceful Luxembourg” heading which promotes the country’s recognition of the need to be open to the outside and to bring together human, natural, technical, industrial and financial resources to create its future.

There has been a call for projects for the layout of the Luxembourg pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai and groups of architects and designers are invited to submit their project by 20 March 2017 at the latest.

The Luxembourg pavilion at the exhibition will consist of an area of around 3,500m2, space for a permanent exhibition, a multipurpose space, a restaurant, and administrative, management and technical premises. The architecture will bring into perspective the problematic related to resources both in a general and more specific sense.
