From 17 to 19 January 2017, Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, attended the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, where he promoted Luxembourg as a European Hub for Research and Space Resources.

Having been invited to the WEF by its founder and president, Professor Klaus Schwab, the Luxembourg Prime Minister took the opportunity to promote the Grand Duchy as a research and space resources hub.

At the WEF, Xavier Bettel met several political and economic actors in an informal setting over a two-day period during which he discussed current political and economic issues. In total, the Prime Minister has around 30 meetings and also took the opportunity to promote Luxembourg’s economic appeal.

Xavier Bettel also took part in a breakfast-debate with global economic decision-makers, which was entitled "Responsive and responsible leadership in a multipolar world”, as well as a discussion panel on space technology partnerships. It was here that he emphasised Luxembourg’s determination to become a European hub for research and the use of space resources.

Aside from political and economic meetings, the Prime Minister presided over a breakfast with young entrepreneurs and decision-makers. The discussions mainly dealt with the opportunities and challenges presented by digitalisation for future entrepreneurs.
