On 21 June 2017, Prime Minister and Minister of State Xavier Bettel will travel to The Hague to attend a meeting of the Benelux, Baltic and Nordic countries the European Union.
Benelux will be represented by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Dutch Prime Minister Marc Rutte and his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel. For the Baltic countries, Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė and Latvian Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis will participate, while the Nordic countries will be represented by the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, State Secretary for Finnish Affairs, Kare Halonen and Danish Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs Michael Starbæk Christensen.
This interview is part of a series of meetings that the Benelux countries have initiated to deepen the talks on various subjects on the European agenda.
The discussions will focus on the relations between the Benelux Union and the Baltic and Nordic countries, as well as on the major issues of current European politics, and more specifically on the future of the European Union, Brexit, migration and security and defence issues.
