On Wednesday 1 July, Luxembourg's Minister of Justice, Felix Braz, conducted the inauguration of the new State Attorney General, Martine Solovieff who was appointed by Grand Ducal decree of 27 February 2015, and will take office on 1 August 2015.

As part of the ceremony at the Department of Justice, Minister Braz specifically thanked the outgoing State Attorney General, Roby Biever, who served from 1 September 2010 until 31 July 2015, the date of his retirement.

57 year-old Martine Solovieff was born in Luxembourg and studied Law at the University of Strasbourg and then Advanced European Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges. She has practiced law in Luxembourg since 1982; in 1992 she became the First Deputy to the Luxembourg Public Prosecutor (Attorney General), amd in 2005 became the state's First Advocate General. Throughout her career she has worked on cases involving financial and economic crime, money laundering, international judicial assistance and extradition.
