On Saturday 4 July 2015, the working group 'Gesond Diddeleng' hosted, in collaboration with its partners, the 12th edition of Health Day.

The day event provided information and awareness stands as well as advice on many health topics and centres including the Back Clinic; Obesity Clinic; Stop Smoking; and Diabetology. The public was also able to participate in various preventive examinations, such as blood pressure; cholesterol; blood sugar; and Body Mass Index (BMI) checks.

During this Health Day, those who wished to quit smoking were able to test their lung capacity; the extent of their nicotine addiction; and their motivation for stopping.

Health Minister Lydia Mutsch praised the town of Dudelange and the 'Gesond Diddeleng' group for their commitment to the promotion of intergenerational health.

"The town of Dudelange sets a good example and has proactively invested in the health of its citizens," said Minister Mutsch. "This Health Day is even more important, as it serves to raise awareness and creatively motivate people to prevent diseases or detect them at an early stage, and to protect the health of the public."

Mutsch was reportedly particularly in favour of the varied, intergenerational approach taken by the municipality.
