Following the inauguration of Luxembourg's new National Shooting Range in Reckenthal earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Homeland Security, Étienne Schneider and Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, opened a second structure this afternoon at the Regional Centre of the Grand Ducal Police.

Located on the outskirts of Rue Marie et Pierre Curie in 'Luxembourg-Verlorenkost', the Regional centre has undergone a transformation and expansion in order to consolidate several police services which were previously distributed over multiple sites including Hamm and Kalchesbrück. The buildings on Rue Glesener, Rue Wallis and Rue Fischer, as well as the former technical department of the Force, have all been emptied and their services relocated.

"These two new facilities significantly improve the working conditions and safety of members of the Police," commented Deputy Prime Minister Étienne Schneider. "The new building at the shooting range enables progress in terms of quality and the volume of shooting training provided. The extension of the Regional Centre in Verlorenkost includes a reception, lobby, and waiting area for citizens who go there to be received in a pleasant and functional environment."

Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, François Bausch, added: "For both projects, care was taken to comply scrupulously with the environmental and energetic objectives: take for example the shooting range, whose environmental impact has been minimised, both from a volume and noise standpoint. The sanitation project and the building extension project in Verlorenkost were carried out with specific energy and durability concepts in mind in order to produce minimal energy consumption and maximum comfort for its users."
