On Saturday evening, a motorist became trapped in his parked vehicle after another car collided with it.

The accident happened shortly after 22:00 on the rue de Luxembourg in Roedgen, located between Leudelange and Dippach. A motorist who was traveling towards Reckange collided with a Mini parked on the roadside, with the two passenger sides involved in which the police described as a  violent collision.

The force of the impact resulted in the driver of the parked car being thrown into the back seat and becoming trapped there; the driver of the other vehicle was knocked unconscious. They were rescued by the emergency services who had to cut off the roof of the Mini and, although nobody suffered serious injuries, the driver of the second car was kept in hospital overnight.

Both cars were written off in the accident in which a hedge in the front garden of a house was also damaged. The Luxembourg police confirmed that the driver of the moving vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
