The Ville de Luxembourg today opened applications for the Prix Anne Beffort, an annual award designed to recognise an individual, non-profit organisation, group or institution working for the promotion of gender equality.

The award, named after the co-founder of the Lycée de Jeunes Filles Luxembourg and the first female professor in the Grand Duchy, was first started in 2003 by the Collège des Bourgmestre et Échevins de la Ville de Luxembourg and the Commission Consultative Pour l'Égalité des Chances entre Femmes et Hommes.

For the 2015 edition, a project or undertaking related to innovation and research in the field of equal opportunities for men and women will receive a prize of €2,500. Last year's prize went to Girls in Tech Luxembourg, a dynamic organisation established to develop the digital education of women in order to allow them to remain competitive in the labour market through the mastery of new technologies and computer skills.

Applications for this year's award must be submitted before 30 September 2015 to the Collège des Bourgmestre et Échevins de la Ville de Luxembourg in Luxembourg City. More information is available at 4796 4138 or at egalite@vdl.lu
