On Saturday 22 August 2015, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Louis and Princess Tessy took to the skies at an event organised by the Cercle Luxembourgeois de Vol à Vile at Useldange airport.

Accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Gabriel and Prince Noah, the event allowed the members of the Luxembourg Royal Family to discover new facets of aeronautical sport before taking their first flight in a glider.

The favourable weather conditions allowed Prince Louis, an enthusiastic private pilot, to establish a national performance with a 'Out and Return Distance (1 predeclared TP) flight in the category 'Double Seater Motorgliders', covering a distance of 144 km.

The flight was performed in an ARCUS two-seater glider alongside Guy Bechtold, an emeritus holder of numerous national and international records.

HRH Prince Louis has been a patron of the Fédération Aéronautique Luxembourgeoise since June 2011.
