On Thursday 26 November 2015, Luxembourg Minister for Equal Opportunities, Lydia Mutsch, held an exchange of views with the Journalist Thematic Network of the European Institute of Gender Equality (EIGE).

The EIGE is a European Union agency established in 2007 which supports EU institutions and Member States in combatting gender-based discrimination and inequality. The EIGE has also been instrumental in promoting the White Ribbon campaign which was launched in Luxembourg later that same day.

Minister Mutsch presented the political priorities for the equality of women and men whose primary objective is a balanced sharing or responsibilities in all areas of life. In this context, the Minister stressed the importance of fighting, from an early age, against gender stereotypes and insisted on the role and responsiblity of the media in this regard.
