Five drug traffickers were arrested in the Gare district of Luxembourg City as part of a criminal investigation carried out by the Narcotics department of the Service de Recherche et d'Enquête Criminelle (SREC) between 6 and 21 January 2016.
Each arrest followed observations made by the Narcotics department, during which drug handovers were witnessed. Body and house searches of the dealers revealed 332.5 grams of heroin, 5.5 grams of cocaine and 11 grams of marijuana, as well as €7,793 and several mobile phones.
A scan also revealed that four of the suspects had swallowed a significant amount of drugs and were taken to hospital for observation. All of those arrested were brought before the examining magistrate, who ordered their detention.
