Luxembourg food authorities have recalled Picard frozen raspberries after it was found that they had been contaminated with Norovirus.

1kg bags of Picard frozen broken strawberries ('Framboises Brisées) with the lot number 28/01/2015 and the expiry date 01/2017 have been affected and withdrawn from sale, but some of the stock has already been distributed in Luxembourg through the Picard store in Strassen.

Food-borne Noroviruses are known to be the most common cause of gastroenteritis in humans and tend to cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. However, the disease is generally self-limiting and individuals affected tend to make a full recovery within 2-3 days.

The Luxembourg food safety authorities have urged the public not to consume the product. For further information, contact secualim@ms.etat.lu or visit www.securite-alimentaire.lu.
