A warm welcome by officials and loved ones greeted the 23 members of the contingent KFOR 47 arriving from Kosovo on Saturday 13 February.

Colonel Alain Duschène, Deputy Chief of Staff,Colonel Yves Kalmes, Commander of the Military Centre, and the body of warrant officers of the Army and Military Centre hosted the detachment after arriving on Luxembourg soil at the international airport in Findel.

Colonel Kalmes thanked the 23 members of the detachment for their commitment and congratulated them for their professionalism during the last four months in Kosovo. The Luxembourg presence in Kosovo is ongoing, a rotation is done every four months.

The Kosovo Force (KFOR) was originally designed by NATO as a support peacekeeping operation in support of wider international efforts to build peace and stability in the region, the Kosovo Force (KFOR) was restructured in February 2010 to allow it to pass into a phase called "deterrent presence".
