The Luxembourg drug scene was dealt a blow on Thursday as a police raid took charge of money, sellers, drug paraphernalia and drugs.

The "Service de Recherche et d'Enquête Criminelle" (SREC) of Luxembourg joined forces with the UGRM, the CP Gare Hollerich and the CI Gare to move against several dealers that, according to previous investigative work, were using a café in Luxembourg to sell their products. Using a sniffer dog, the taskforce found several individuals carrying small amounts of drugs. In a corner of the café they found evidence to suggest the drugs had been repackaged there, as well as a large amount of money on one of the individuals.

A search of a room in a refugee centre was undertaken by 25 officers after it was discovered that one of the dealers lived there. The search yielded a further small amount of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Prosecutors ordered all 7 suspects to be fingerprinted and one person was accommodated in the Centre de Retention whilst two others were brought before the investigating judge.
