The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a Belgian worker was killed on Thursday morning in Luxembourg's fourth work-related fatal accident this year.

Shortly before 09:00 on Thursday 21 April 2016, police received a call reporting that a worker was trapped between his lorry and his tractor in Bissen, Z.A.C. Klengbousbierg and that the individual, a 42-year-old man from Belgium, was no longer responsive.

Once emergency services arrived onsite, it was ascertained that the tractor had been uncoupled and had rolled backwards, trapping the worker, who passed away at the scene.

The prosecution was informed and an autopsy requested, as well as checks on the lorry.

The incident is the fourth work-related death to have occurred in Luxembourg in the last three months, following a wind-related accident in February and two construction site deaths in Syren and Limpertsberg earlier this month.
